Ms. Madison is now 6 months old. She had her check-up. Here are her stats: she's 27 inches long and a whopping 19.6 lbs. She's in the 90th percentile for her height and the 95th percentile for her weight. Her doctor. was joking with her and said that she was so.... cute but she certainly has thunder thighs and needs a bra. LOL! I would have to agree. Ms. Madison is quite chunky. She received 4 shots and had a heel prick to test her iron levels. Let's just say she was very vocal.
She's rolling over, boh front to back and back to front. She sits up w/o assistance. She hasn't quite managed crawling yet. She scoots back but hasn't figured out moving forward just yet. She will get up on her knees or simply on all fours with her butt in the air. She loves to play with her big sister, Trinity. Madison also loves to move around in her walker. She goes all over the place. She likes for us to put her on the floor in front of the couch so that she can walk along the edge. She'll be walking in no time.
Madison is still getting mommy's breastmilk but she's also now eating cereal and 1st stages jar baby food. Her doctor told me today to go ahead and start giving her table food (with only a few exceptions: eggs, honey, peanut butter, and fish). She told me to move her up to stage 2 jar baby food and she can even have a couple of cheerios at a time. I'm so excited for her. She will be thrilled to be able to eat when we eat. Oh yeah, I almost forgot: She's using a sippy cup already. Can you beleive it? Where does the time go? I can't believe it's already been six months.

Dedication

Sunday, September 21, 2008 was a great day. It was the day that Madison Lauren King was christened. She looked so pretty in her fluffy white dress. We called her "Princess Maddi". Her big sister Trinity had on a new dress too. Long before our children were conceived, Taurus and I made a covenant with God that we would dedicate our children to His service. We declared that the children God gave us to raise would know and love Him in an even greater measure than we've experienced. We vowed to teach them to serve God's kingdom, just as our parents had done with us. We were one of many families standing before our Pastors, committing ourselves to raise our children to love and honor God. What an awesome experience. It was a great feeling to have our families share in the honor with us. Our parents were there along with Gran-Gran (my mom's mother), my brother Adrian, my soon to be sister-n-law, Tamesha, Trinity, our cousin, Dave Jr., and the girls' godmother, Harriett (who flew all the way from Canada to be there). It was a great feeling having the support of our family there as we dedicated Madison to the Lord.

"Girls Only"
After picking Trinity up from school on Friday, we went to Mimi's house, Taurus' mom. We're blessed that she only lives 15 minutes away. We had the best time. We had a "girls only party" as Trinity called it. We just talked and laughed. We ordered chinese take-out for dinner and before we knew it, it was 8 o'clock at night so I packed up the girls and headed home.
As I think back about that evening, I am so thankful to have such a wonderful, caring mother-in-law. I don't think many people can say that. She is so sweet and she treats me just as if she birthed me herself. Not only that, but she and my mom have a great friendship too. It's like they're sisters. I AM TRULY BLESSED.

Storytime
The girls love to read. We picked up some books from the library and Trinity decided to read to Madison before bedtime. It was so cute.
