Remembering Mama Vic

Well, today was the day that Mama Vic went home to be with Jesus. We knew that it wouldn't be long. She was tired. She said that she was ready to go a long time ago. Today just so happens to be Dadrian's 30th birthday. He passed 5 years ago. I know that she gave him the biggest birthday surprise that he's ever had. He loved her so much. I can just imagine the joy on his face. Let me tell you, there's got to be a big party going on in heaven today.

Here are a few pics of her right before Maddi was born and one of her meeting Maddi for the 1st time. She said that Maddi gave her something to fight for. She lived to see her turn one year old.

Here are some other pics of Mama Vic at the girls' birthday party. Her hair grew back and she was looking and feeling more like herself.

Less of Me, Wk#17: Part 2

Okay, I worked out 1st thing this morning before I weighed in, thinking that would bring me down a few extra onces. I found out at my weight watchers meeting that when you do that, your muscles are a little but pumped up, resulting in a slightly higher weight. After the meeting today, I got on the scale at home. Guess what? I do weigh less. Not much, 0.4 lbs less, so I have lost a total of 30.2 lbs. Whoo Hoo!! I am so excited. Now, I can say that I have met my goal this week. Not only that but the pound for pound challenge through the Biggest Loser gets to donate 30 pounds of food to an area food bank because I lost the weight. Now, that feels great!

Less of Me, Wk#17

This week was great, inspite of the stress. I lost 2.8 lbs this week. So far, I'm down 29.8 lbs. My current weight is 181 lbs. I am very excited as you could imagine. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Less of Me, Wk#16

This week was not so bad. I was very nervous because I ate, and ate, and ate on Easter Sunday and finished off leftovers the following two days. I did work out though to kind of balance things out. I guess it payed off. This week I loss only 0.8 lbs but that was enough to give me a total weight loss of 27 lbs. I now weigh 183.8. I'm excited!

I'll be working extra hard this week. I really want to lose those next 3 lbs to get me down 30 lbs. I've been following The Biggest Loser on NBC. This is my favorite show. When I watch it, I pretend that I am one of the contestants. Anyway, they have established a weight loss challenge for people to pledge to lose weight and for every pound loss, they donate that amount of food to a food bank across the country to help fight hunger in the US. I pledged to lose 30 lbs by May. So, I am eager to lose the weight to help in the fight. If you know me, you know that I am all about doing things for a good cause. Wish me luck! I'll let you know next week how I did.

Less of Me, Wk#15

Here I am looking, oh so lean

Well here are my stats for this week. I lost 0.8 lbs. My current weight is 184.6 lbs. This brings my weight loss total thus far to 26.2 lbs.

Here's a little humor that I'd like to share:

Diet Supreme WillPower Tonic

1 cup Desire
1 quart Determination
1 tbsp Common Sense
1 tbsp Stick-to-itiveness
1 tbsp Foresight
1 cup Energy

Bring the quart of Determination to a boil and slowly stir in the other ingredients, starting with the cup of Desire. The last ingredient to go into the tonic is Stick-to-itiveness.Without these basic ingredients, the tonic will be flat and have no effect. But with the desire to accomplish any worthwhile objective, especially the goal of health and happiness, you will have a tonic that is bound to be forever helpful. Let all the parts steep for an hour and then bottle. Drink as needed.

Hugging

Here are my two favorite huggers, Trinity and Madison

 Hugging is good medicine.

 It transfers energy, and gives the person hugged an emotional boost.

 You need four hugs a day for survival, eight for maintenance, and twelve for growth.

 A hug makes you feel good.

 The skin is the largest organ we have and it needs a great deal of care. A hug can cover a lot of skin and gives the message that you care.

 It is also a form of communication. It can say things you don't have words for.

 The nicest thing about a hug is that you usually can't give one without getting
one.

Less of Me, Wk#14

Well this week went great! I must admit that I was a little worried at first. Taurus and I dined at Furr's Fresh Buffet for my birthday and I REALLY enjoyed myself. I ate fried catfish (too much of it) and tater sauce. I had a huge slice of chocolate cake and on and on it went. Since I ate like that over the weekend, I knew that I had to really get it together during the week. I cut way back on my portions this week and I worked out 5 of the 7 days. This was a first. It felt great and Taurus rewarded me too. I'll just leave it at that.

Anyway, I conquered the "hungry monster" this week and managed to lose 1.2 lbs. He no longer has power over me. I have lost a total of 25.4 lbs so far, bringing my weight to 185.4 lbs. Watch out now! You can't stop me because I'm on a roll. Go Kendi, Go Kendi! I am so proud of myself.
