Defending her faith...

While I was at work, I got a call from Trinity's school principal today. I was nervous, hoping everything was okay. Mrs. Heinman assured me that Trinity was just fine, however, she had to have a little discussion with her about religion. I'm thinking, Really???

During the first week of school, Trinity noticed that one of her classmates did not bless his food during lunch time. She asked him if he was a Christian and he said no. They proceeded to have a discussion about their faith. Trinity, being the fearless girl that she is, was bold and told him all about Jesus. They've had several discussions since then.

This has inspired lots of conversations in our house about what we believe and the different things that other people believe. She is very curious and wants to know everything. We encourage her to stand strong in her faith. She said, "Mommy, I'm not afraid to stand up for Jesus".

When I received Mrs. Heinman's call, I was wondering what I should say to Trinity. I want her to have confidence in who she is and what we believe in. Apparently, her classmate's parent have called the school and said that they were offended by what Trinity told their son. I'm still not sure how a 6 yr old cal offend them but I guess the truth hurts sometimes. Trinity told their son that their god was just a man and that he wasn't the boss of her. She explained who Jesus was and that He died so that we could have eternal life.

I am so proud of her. She is definitely living up to the meaning of her name. Alexis, her middle name means helper or defender of; and of course Trinity represents God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

I told her that it's okay to still talk to others about Jesus but to make sure that she always does it in a loving way. I explained that everyone does not have the same beliefs as us and we need to make sure that we don't hurt someone's feelings when we share our faith. She agreed because she said that she doesn't want anyone to talk bad about Jesus or say mean things about him.

She's only in the first grade and we're already having these conversations. I'm praying that she keeps this same boldness and "no-fear" attitude. There's no telling what she'll do for Christ when she's an adult. I just think of the seeds that she's sown in her classmate's heart. With time, those seeds will be watered and eventually grow. Then, hopefully, he will come to know Christ as his personal savior. It all started with a lunchroom conversation in the 1st grade.

Trinity has made her mommy really proud.

Adrian and Tamesha's maternity pics

I just wanted to share some beautiful maternity pictures of Adrian and Tamesha. Baby Amariah will be here next month. We're all so excited to meet her!

Mom's home

I just wanted to let you know that mom made it home in one piece. Praise the Lord! Thank you for your prayers. Kuwait was extremely hot and unfortunately she had to return home to the Texas heat but at least it's not in the 100s. She's trying to re-adjust to the 8 hour time difference but she's doing well. We're so happy to have her safe at home.
