Well, we found out for sure that my mom will be leaving for Kuwait the day after Thanksgiving. She will be there for 6 weeks, which means she won't be home for Christmas or New Years. I know it could be a lot longer so we are thankful that it isn't. We all seem to have peace about it though. Trinity will definitely take it the hardest. She is so attached to mom. Hopefully the times goes by fast.
Mom works for the federal government in the Department of Defense. She will be staying on an army base so we know she will be safe. I just pray that her body is able to keep up with the 7 day a week, 12-14 hour day schedule she'll be working through. I know that the Lord will be with her. Mom's a tough cookie. It will be difficult but with God on her side, there's nothing that she can't handle.

Train Up a Child

Today's ecomony is looking pretty grim these days. It seems like everyone is affected in some way. Because of our faith in God, we blieve that God is our source. In response to what is happening in the world economy today our church is particiapting in a time of fasting and prayer for 21 days. Taurus and I decided to participate. We are believing God for the finacial breakthrough that he has promised us. Taurus decided to fast from soda. I am fasting from bread, sweets, and myspace.
We have discussed what we are doing with Trinity. She asked what fasting was and why we did it. I told her that we want to get closer to God and that we are believing for God to release a breakthrough in our lives. She is so smart. She visisted with Taurus's mom today and she offered Trinity some soda. Trinity politely said, "No thank you." She told her Mimi that she was fasting soda because she wants God to bless our finances. She said that she wants God to give her a big house with a big yard to play in. The Bible says in Proverbs 22:6, "Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it."
It made me feel so good to know that we are planting good seeds into our children. When Taurus offered Trinity a choice between soda and juice today at McDonald's, she again replied politely with "No thank you" and said that she was fasting. Oh, the faith of little children! I just know that God is going to answer her prayers. This summer, she prayed for a new SUV and the very next day, we got one. All we have to do is obey what the Bible teaches us and teach our children to follow God's Word. Even if they should stray, we know that the foundation was laid and that they will return because of the seeds that were sown when they were young.
