1st Day of 1st Grade

My baby girl is growing up. Trinity is now in first grade. She had a great first day of school. She was able to get a really good teacher this year, Mrs Varughese. We are thrilled because she is a Christian and she really challenges the kids and encourages them to do their best. Here are a few pictures.

Praying for Mom

Mom's job has her traveling quite a bit these days. She is currently in Kuwait.

Please keep her in your prayers. This trip to Kuwait is a much shorter trip than the last one (10 days). She will be over there until August 31st. This time she is not staying on the military base. She's in a hotel, however, this has it's positives and negatives. Since she isn't on base, she doesn't have that added measure of security so please keep her in your prayers.

I spoke with her yesterday and she's doing okay. Neither her cell phone nor her blackberry works but she can call us from work and she gets internet connections in her hotel room so we can communicate that way.

I know that this is not only a work assignment but that God has an assignment of his own for her on this trip. I pray that she is able to move as the Holy Spirit leads her, without fear, and minister to the person(s) God has assigned her to.

Thanks in advance for the additional prayer covering.

Trinity's Micro Mini's

Trinity's hair is stronger and much healthier now. Her dermatologist said that since her hair is growing back that she could get her hair braided. Well, I decided with school starting a just a few day, I'd better get a plan together in what I would be doing with Trinity's hair. A dear lady at our church, Sis. Donna, did Trinity's micro braids. They will last a long time and the outcome is beautiful. It took a very, very, very long time but we are pleased with the outcome. Trinity was a real trooper too, to be able to sit there so long. Donna was able to braid it in a way that you cannot tell that she has any patches of hair missing. Here are the results.

Family Vacation 2010

We took a family trip to Colorado and it was so beautiful. We went there to celebrate my great-grandmother's 90th birthday. She was happy to see us and so thankful that we made it out to celebrate with her.

The climate was perfect. I hated to return to this dreaded Texas heat. The mountains were absolutely beautiful! I can now relate to the verse in the song America the Beautiful that says, "purple mountains majesty above the fruited plain." I have literally seen it with my own eyes. The hand of God is an amazing thing! I can't wait to go back.

We had quite the adventure. While on a nature walk, Trinity actually stepped on a snake. I was so glad that Taurus was there. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Thank God it was just a little harmless one! We saw prairie dogs right up close too. They were so cute.

We drove but it wasn't too bad. Considering it was a 13 hr journey, the girls did surprisingly well. I packed lots of things to keep them occupied: dvd player, books, crayons, writing pads, games, etc.... I even packed a treasure box so every few hours, I'd let them select a prize for being such a good sport. That seemed to really do the trick.

Here are a few pics of our trip. I uploaded many more on my facebook page if you want to view them. (http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/album.php?aid=2074645&id=1207024225)
